Awards @ EuroSonic Noorderslag
Being Europe’s main music industry gathering, EuroSonic Noorderslag hosts several awardshows, awarding almost everything related to pop music, be it the best festival, most promising acts, best pop photographer or website.

The European Festival Awards
Yourope, the European Festival Association has joined forces with festivals portal Virtual Festivals Europe to create the second edition of the awards to celebrate the ever-growing strength and diversity of the pan-European music festival marketplace and recognize those individuals and organizations responsible for brightening up the lives of millions each summer.
2010’s greatest events, artists and organisers in Europe’s music festival marketplace will be chosen for the second time. More than 100,000 votes were casted last year by fans on European festival portal Virtual Festivals Europe to decide the winners.

The European Border Breakers Awards (EBBA’s)
In giving these awards the European Commission, in cooperation with the EBU wishes to reward debut artists' and groups' success in crossing national borders. The awards highlight the existing need to open up the European market to European creativity and to stimulate the mobility of artists and their work within Europe and beyond.
The 2010 European Border Breaker Awards (EBBA's) were presented in a spectacular TV show on the opening night of EuroSonic Noorderslag, in the presence of H.R.H. Princess Máxima of the Netherlands, numerous VIP’s and 1200 visitors. The awards' show, which featured live performances by eight of the ten award-winning acts, has been picked up by TV stations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Estonia, Italy, Portugal, Finland, The Netherlands and Belgium.

Lex van Rossen Award
The Lex van Rossen Award is a special award for young talented European pop music photographers and is handed out twice a year. In 2010 the award has been won by Graham Smith from Northern Ireland. The jury thought his pictures form a good and coherent series of an excellent documentary quality, which have been shot with a lot of feeling. www.popview.eu
De Veer
De Veer (‘the Feather’) is an award granted to an indivi-dual from the Dutch music industry who has distinguished her- or himself on behalf of Dutch music. De Veer will be handed out on Friday 15 January at the EuroSonic Noorderslag Trade Dinner.
Interactive Awards
For the third time EuroSonic Noorderslag and <theFactor.e> present the Interactive Award. The Interactive Award will be granted to the band which utilizes the internet in an original and innovative way to promote itself. For more info, check www.interactive-awards.nl
Popprijs
De Popprijs (Pop Award) is presented to the Dutch artist who has made the most significant contribution to Dutch pop music in the previous year. The Popprijs 2009 has been won by Kyteman. The Pop Award is an initiative of BV POP, and is awarded by Buma Cultuur with support of Sena Performers.
Pop Media Prijs
The Pop Media Prijs (Pop Media Award) is an initiative of Music Center the Netherlands (MCN) to stimulate Dutch Pop journalism in its broadest sense and will be awarded for the sixteenth time for the entire works of a pop journalist. The jury principally looks at extraordinary achievements in the past year. It is all about publications on pop music from the entire media spectrum.
